We live in a society where sex is everywhere, yet it is taboo to speak of sexual pleasure. Most of us have grown up in households that never discussed sex, or if it was discussed, the conversations involved scare tactics about deadly STIs, or damnation to hell for being sexually active, leaving us with some form of shame and confusion.
Even though it appears the world has made great advances, sexual stigma and inequality abound. We live in a world that still embraces patriarchal attitudes where males are expected to be sexual aggressors, always ready and able, and their worth depends on their ability to perform. Females, on the other hand, must be careful to not be overly sexual because it is dangerous and are stigmatized for being too robust in their sexual enjoyment. Folks that identify beyond the gender binary are left feeling invisible. These messages leave all gender identities victim of roles that do not match who they are authentically.
What my clients most want to know is “am I normal?” It is my desire to help clear the misunderstandings and guide you to find pleasure as a sexual being, not only in your body, but your mind and spirit.
